Hey everyone! [Of which there seem to be very few...]
I recently moved here and would love to get started running again. I think it's good to have a community on here like this, but I wonder if there is any way to reach more people- I know Self.com has online community groups interested in workout buddies and motivational groups, etc, and I wonder if there is a way to link this to something like that in order to get more input.
Anyhow, I currently don't have too much time to run and am still unsure about where to go [that is both safe and preferably trail; I'm used to mountain trails, not asphalt], but I'd eventually like to start running seriously enough to train for either a small race or a triathlon [eventually]. I've seen people running out late at night in town, but that seems like it is a little unsafe in this city. Not sure what to think about it.
Also, if anyone knows of any good indoor, free, and possibly uncrowded tracks in town, please let me know!
Looking for a summer, or however long sublease!
My current lease is ending this weekend! I thought I was going to stay and renew, but my room mates decided to pull all these things on me! (it just got really ridiculous recently...)
Anywho, I am a Very clean person, so i wont make a mess of the place...
If there will be roommates: I get along with just about everyone, and I am easy to get along with. I don't smoke, or anything like that. I don't have any weird habits, blast annoying music, or leave the kitchen a mess.. you wouldnt regret having me as a roommate! Also, I'd rather have other female roommates, thanks..!!! :)
has this community died?
if not, i'm trying to force myself to get back to running. ran cc in hs, was pretty fast, came to college, now, year and a half later, no excersize. hard to run alone all the time, at least for me.
anyone want to organize a run / anyone live by brandywine?
What are the best (cheapest, most reliable) bike shops in town as far as repairing/tuning up a bike? What about buying a used bike?
Hey all. Even though I am going on being a Gainesville resident for about two years now, I have yet to find any trail runs. I'd love to get on some this week (or the following one) to explore...so, if any of you know any good ones, I'd love to set up a running date with you soon :o)

Hey...I just joined here...good Lord it is so cold out. How can they say Gainesville is in Florida when it feels like it does outside?

Volleyball pickup games every Thursday at 7pm at the Flavet Fields on campus (by frat row)...come out and play!

Are there any SOCCER or VOLLEYBALL pickup games anywhere in Gainesville? Or just places/occasions to play other than Intramurals? Please let me know!
Also, where could I go if I wanted to learn play ULTIMATE FRISBEE but never have before? Any nice soul who would share his expertise?
Lastly, where I could get the best deal in town (or online) on volleyball kneepads and used road bikes?
Thanks thanks thanks! :)
PS: if any not-too-fast runners (or girls that don't want to run by themselves at night) would be up for a early-morning or late-night soft run, I would love to join you!
It's a perfect 70 degrees, and tomorrow will be only a little warmer. Anyone interested in going running in the next hour (out of all 4 of you who are members)...? Reply to the post if so. I'm thinking around Lake Alice on UF campus, but I'm open to better suggestions.

Since one of the interests of this community is Adidas...and I needed to buy a pair of running shoes...what do you guys recommend?
- New Balance
I was going for the Saucony because I've never had any and I heard they were among the best ones...and also because my brother (a triathlete) uses them...and because I like their looks!
Pros and cons of those shoes, advice, recommendations,...anything!
